1972

The Establishment of Pakmaya

Our founder, Dr. Engin Pak, decided to start yeast production in 1972 after gaining years of experience in hygienic industrial production of pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical raw materials. Thus, Pakmaya's first factory was established and started operating in İzmit-Köseköy in 1973.

1976

First Dry Yeast Production

Following the production of fresh yeast, we have started producing dry yeast at our Izmit factory.

1981

First Export

In Türkiye, nationwide marketing activities were conducted to promote the widespread use of commercial yeast in the bakery market. Leveraging our experience in the Turkish market, we turned to exports and expanded into international markets. Our first export was to Iran. Subsequently, through various marketing activities such as exports to neighboring countries, participation in various international fairs, and country visits, we now bring Pakmaya products to consumers in over 130 countries across 5 continents.

1983

As Gıda Investment

With the establishment of As Gıda, we started producing bread improving products for bakeries.

1985

First Wastewater Treatment Plant

The biological wastewater treatment plant we established at our Izmit factory became the first wastewater treatment plant in Kocaeli province.

1986

Second Factory

Our second factory was established in Kemalpaşa, İzmir. We initially started operations with the production of fresh yeast.

1988

Pakbiomer

To continuously improve yeast production and to conduct research and development to meet the diverse needs of new markets, we established the Pak Biotechnology Center (Pakbiomer) within our Izmit factory.

1989

Third Factory

Our third factory in Cumayeri, Düzce, has started production.

1989

FAGEM

Our Bakery and Pastry Research and Development Center (FAGEM), which develops new products and methods for the production of bakery and pastry products, was established within the Izmit Factory.

1998

First Overseas Investment: ROMPAK

We transferred the knowledge and experience we gained in production in Turkey to international markets with the establishment of Rompak in 1998. With Rompak, we started production for both the Romanian and European markets.

2012

Pakmaya Is A Food Brand

With the experience we gained with Maya and the trust we built in the sector, we entered the pastry and home consumption products group after bakery products, and we are confidently moving our brand forward from Maya to become a food brand.

2013

40th Anniversary

To mark our 40th anniversary, we have established the Pakmaya Application Center (PUM) in Esentepe, Istanbul, with the aim of providing professionals working in the baking and pastry industry with information about the right products and the right production methods.
2015

Our R&D Centers

We have transformed our R&D centers, where we conduct research on yeast and the environment, into an R&D center approved by the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology.

2016

We are Environmentally Conscious

Our Izmir factory won second place in the Environmental Award Competition organized by the Aegean Region Chamber of Industry.

Şahabettin Bilgisu Environmental Award

Our İzmit factory won the Environmental Investment Incentive Award at the Şahabettin Bilgisu Environmental Award Competition organized by the Kocaeli Chamber of Industry.
2018

Our Priority is the Environment

Our Izmit factory has earned the right to represent Turkey in Europe by finishing in the top 3 in the European Environmental Award Competition, organized by REC Turkey, an international organization that supports the addressing of environmental issues.

Şahabettin Bilgisu Environmental Award

Our Düzce factory won the Environmental Investment Incentive Award at the Şahabettin Bilgisu Environmental Award Competition organized by the Kocaeli Chamber of Industry.

Yeşil Nokta Industry Award

In the Yeşil Nokta Industry Awards Competition organized by ÇEVKO, our Düzce factory received the Yeşil Nokta Incentive Award for its Recycling, Gaining the Future Project.
2019

R&D Center First Place

Our R&D Center received first place among the 7th Technology Development Zones and R&D Centers employing 36-50 personnel.
2020

Zero Waste Procedure

We became the first company in Kocaeli province, among the facilities operating under the Annex-2 list of the Environmental Permit and License Regulation, to be awarded the Zero Waste Certificate.
